She Can Lift: Women in Para Powerlifting Programme
Description: She Can Lift was launched in 2018
through support of the Agitos Foundation with the aim to improve the gender
equity among different stakeholders throughout the sport. Since its inception, hundreds of women have been directly
impacted and empowered through participation in certification courses. In 2021, She Can Lift expanded with the delivery of the
Gender Equity and Leadership Conference to coincide with International Women’s
Day. World Para Powerlifting and She Can Lift was recognised by
the International Paralympic Committee as the winner of their International
Women’s Day Recognition Award in the international federation category for
2021. As a continuation, She Can Lift provides grants for
interested women to participate in courses.
Eligibility: Women interested in a Para powerlifting pathway in coaching, officiating or classification.
Application Process: Eligible women should complete the Certification Course Registration Form, specifically mentioning "She Can Lift", and provide information about their experience, motivation and goals in the sport.
Selection Process: Selection is on an ongoing basis. Applications are reviewed and assessed by World Para Powerlifting Management Staff.
Life After Lifting: Retired Athlete Transition Programme
Description: Life After Lifting was launched in 2020
with the aim of supporting athletes remain involved in the sport following
retirement from competition. Life After Lifting provides grants for interested retired
athletes to participate in courses.
Eligibility: Para powerlifting athletes who competed at the Paralympic Games and have retired from international competition.
Application Process: Eligible athletes should complete the Certification Course Registration Form, specifically mentioning "Lift After Lifting" and provide information about their experience, motivation and goals in the sport.
Selection Process: Selection is on an ongoing basis. Applications are reviewed and assessed by World Para Powerlifting Management Staff.
