How can I change the Learning Hub’s system language?

Most of the course and activity content is in English, unless otherwise noted, but you can change the Learning Hub's system language to one of six major languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian or Arabic.

To change your system language, when logged in:

  • Click your name or profile picture in the top right corner
  • Click Language
  • Click your preferred language

How can I login with my Google, Microsoft or Facebook account?

To login with your Google, Microsoft or Facebook account, you must link the accounts. To link your account:

  • On the login page, under Log in using your account on:, click Google, Microsoft or Facebook
  • Follow the prompts to login using the other account
  • In your email account, open the email subject World Para Powerlifting: linked login confirmation and click the URL
  • In the future, you can now login using Google, Microsoft or Facebook account information


How do I update my time zone, email and/or profile picture?

To update your profile, when logged in:

  • Click your name or profile picture in the top right corner
  • Click profile
  • Click Edit Profile
  • Edit the desired fields
  • Click Update Profile

By default, your time zone is set to Central European Time.

If some fields cannot be edited, please write to your instructor or World Para Powerlifting to change them.


I cannot login - how do I reset my password?

Your password can be reset by visiting this link and inputting either your username or email address. Check your junk/spam mailbox if the email is not immediately received.


I’m not receiving messages, reminders or notifications from my course – what do I do?

Most likely the emails are going to your junk/spam mailbox – please check this and ensure the email noreply@worldparapowerlifting.org is marked as not junk.


What accessibility features does the Learning Hub have?

The World Para Powerlifting Learning Hub is designed according to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) level AAThis means you should be able to:

  • Enlarge text by zooming in.
  • Read the text and view images that have a high contrast to their background.
  • Change the background and text color and fonts using browser plugins.
  • Navigate the website using only a keyboard.
  • Navigate using a screen-reader and speech-recognition software.
  • Listen to texts and image descriptions using a screen-reader (such as NVDA).

 

Alter this site to suit your own needs

The Learning Hub features an accessibility toolbar throughout the site, which allows users to customize the site to their visual needs, such as changing text sizes, color schemes and text-to-speech.

Also My Computer My Way is recommended; it is a website by AbilityNet that helps you to set up your computer to suit your own needs.

To activate accessibility features, when logged in:

  • Click your name or profile picture in the top right corner
  • Click Accessibility
  • Click the Font Type or Enable Accessibility Toolbar to enable features

GENERAL COURSE

After my course finishes, will I continue to have access to the course and its content?

You will continue to have access to the course after the evaluation dates. This is so you can review content, complete any outstanding activities, provide feedback and/or download the certificate.


Can I access the World Para Powerlifting Learning Hub by mobile device?

Yes, the Learning Hub can be accessed via an app.

To do this:

  • Search and download Moodle in your App Store
  • Open the App and enter site URL db.ipc-services.org/para-powerlifting/
  • Login using your username and password
  • Enjoy learning from your mobile device

Do courses count towards continued professional development credits for other organisations?

World Para Powerlifting does not have agreements with any other organisation to recognise courses but we encourage you to submit courses for continued professional development credits.

The number of study hours is listed in the course descriptions, certificates and/or badges.


I am not able to attend the full course I signed up for – can I still take the evaluations and earn the certification?

You must be present and participating in the entire course and evaluations in order to be eligible for certification. If an emergency occurs and you cannot attend the full course, please contact the course instructor or World Para Powerlifting as soon as possible to find a solution such as attending a course at a different date.


I don’t have consistent access to the internet – can I download course content?

Yes, some courses and their content can be downloaded for viewing and completion without an active internet connection.

To do this:

  • Download the Moodle application for free from the Apple or Android application store
  • Login using the site link db.ipc-services.org/para-powerlifting/ and your account details
  • After logging in, click on a course and then Download Course

I don’t speak English as my first language – is content in a different language?

Most courses are delivered in English, unless otherwise noted.

For online self-study content, we recommend using a translator such as in Google Chrome or installing the Google Translate toolbar extension on another browser to support the translation of content. Note that the English text always takes precedence in all courses.

Depending on the instructor and the specific course, the face-to-face portion may be delivered in a different language.


I have a disability or cannot physically perform Para powerlifting lifts – can I still attend a course?

Yes – while the coach and technical official courses may sometimes encourage lifting, you are not required to perform the lifts. 


Is there anything I need to do before taking the course to prepare for them?

Generally, it is recommended to reread the Technical and/or Classification Rules and Regulations, and their appendices.

For each certification course itself, in the Before Course and Resources sections, there will be mandatory and recommended readings and activities. The course instructor will provide further details about the deadlines.


What is the refund policy for courses?

Courses are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend a course, please contact the course instructor or World Para Powerlifting as soon as possible to find a solution such as attending a course at a different date.

In the event a course is cancelled, World Para Powerlifting is not responsible for any pre-paid expenses occurred by the participant.


Will courses delivered online through webinars be recorded for viewing later?

No, courses delivered online through webinars are not recorded for viewing later. Participants should be prepared to take their own notes throughout.


Will I receive any printed resources while attending a face-to-face course?

No, in an effort to protect the environment, participants will not receive any printed resources such as workbooks or the Rules and Regulations, nor will they receive their certificate printed. All resources and certificates will be distributed digitally.


Will the presentation slides be shared during the course?

No, the course presentation slides will not be shared directly with the participants at any point. Participants should be prepared to take their own notes throughout.


HOSTING

I want to host a course for my national federation or club – what must I do and what am I responsible for?

Interested national federations or clubs can host a course, please contact World Para Powerlifting a few weeks in advanced of your desired hosting dates.

The host is responsible for the organisation and costs of:

  • Meeting room with audio-visual technology and supplies (e.g., projector, whiteboard and markers, etc.)
  • Access to a Para powerlifting bench with bar and discs, and demonstration athletes
  • Instructor expenses such as the flight, ground transportation, entry visa, accommodations, meals and honorarium fee
  • Daily refreshments for the instructor and participants (e.g., water, coffee, tea and snacks)
  • Interpreter service if required
  • Staff or volunteer to support the course needs and tasks
  • Participant fees, depending on the specific arrangement


What are the benefits of hosting a course?

  • Opportunity to certify a large number of interested participants
  • Be provided education from certified instructors
  • Courses delivered with official international federation content and activities
  • Improves Para powerlifting knowledge nationally
  • Develop Para powerlifting expertise among participants
  • Ensure participants are certified with the most recent rules and regulations
